You don’t have to remodel your house if you want a change of view. The fastest and cheapest way to do it is give your home a makeover. The good thing about it is you don’t need to be an expert; you just have to know the basics and follow these simple tips.

• Make your room clean and clutter free. First thing you need to do is do some serious cleaning. Get rid of all the clutter and garbage by removing old books, magazines, and newspapers on the shelves that you don’t need, trinkets like figurines and decorations, old CDs, old furniture like chairs, center tables, chest drawers and other things that you no longer use and are taking up space inside your living room. Instead of throwing away, you can give them to charity or sell it in a yard sale. You can use the proceeds to buy new stuff for you home. However, if these things have sentimental value and you don’t want to throw them away, you can store them in the basement and maybe use them again in a couple of months.
• Change the color of your walls into something you have not tried before. You can either hire a professional to do this or you can do it yourself. There are other options aside from painting the walls a different color. You can also use wall papers or do a decorative painting technique to make your walls look different.
• Rearrange your furniture and appliances. Move your things around and try placing them in a different spot. Place big items against the wall if you want to make the room more spacious.
• Change your furniture covers. If you have a couch with washable covers, then you can easily change them. You can buy ready to use covers in any department store. If that is not an option, you can have your couch reupholstered so that it will have a new look. While you’re at it, change your curtains and get a new set of covers for your throw pillows to match the new couch.
• After getting rid of all the clutter and things that you don’t need, repainting your walls and changing your curtains, and reupholstering your couch, get a rug that will match the color of your new walls and couch. After putting everything together, you will be amazed with how different and beautiful your room looks.
